Mission critical – “Education for All”
Approximately 75 million people in Pakistan can neither read nor write. Some 25 million youths are out of school. This high illiteracy level is the main cause of poverty and many social evils. Poverty forms a barrier between a child and the education he or she rightfully deserves. Changing this situation demands each one of us to act now, and Diya can be your act of kindness.
People of integrity, commitment, professionalism
Diya Pakistan is led by a team of highly accomplished Non Resident Pakistani professionals from Middle East who are determined to make a difference. Our common vision is an Educated Pakistan. The present Chairman of Board of Trustees is Mr. Ashar Nazim, who is the Group CEO of AION Digital. Meet our people here
Best use of your wealth, high impact
Diya ensures that 100% of your donation reaches a deserving child without any deductions. For this purpose, all administrative expenses of Diya are directly paid by the trustees, and nothing by the donor. You can rest assured that your zakah, sadaqa and other contributions are directly reaching the most deserving students. See Success Stories here
Transparency and accountability, protecting your trust
Your trust is our biggest asset and Diya has put in place an effective governance structure that ensures full accountability at every level. Diya Pakistan is a registered, non-profit organization in Pakistan. Annual Audit is performed by reputed audit firms in Pakistan. For every contribution made, you may ask for feedback and where the funds were used, and the management will provide you full details to your satisfaction. In fact, we encourage our supporters to visit our offices in Rawalpindi and see the operations for themselves. (See Governance Structure below).
Proven track record, performance delivered
34 years, 500,000 scholarships, US$ 10 million in donations received and disbursed. Going from strength to strength, your Diya Pakistan continues to serve the nation with passion and professionalism. Your donations are doing wonders to the lives of so many forgotten students. Be a part of this journey.
Ensuring a transparent, effective and efficient governance system is at the core of Diya’s philosophy. It serves to protect and strengthen the confidence that our donors have in Diya’s services since its inception in 1988. We believe that there is a tremendous spirit of donating for educational purposes amongst our people, specially once they are convinced that their money is being used for the right purpose and is in fact reaching the deserving beneficiaries.
In order to ensure that we deliver to the expectations of our patrons, donors and supporters – who come from Pakistan, Middle East, Europe, Canada and the USA – Diya’s governance framework is structured as follows:
